In this webinar, Kevin Brown discusses the changing nature of cyber attacks: the perpetrators, the forms of aggression, the collaboration between different groups of perpetrators. Brown is Managing Director of BT Security, BT’s security arm. With around 3,000 employees, BT Security is one of Europe’s largest cyber defence organisations.
Kevin Brown is Managing Director, BT Security. In this role, he makes sure that BT has the right policies and systems in place to keep the company’s assets – whether physical, logical or information – secure from attack. BT Security also works to actively counter cybercrime and fraud, and to minimise disruption to BT in the event of an incident. This includes BT's UK civil resilience obligations.
Joining BT in 2012, Kevin assumed responsibility for several security teams and was instrumental in changing BT’s approach to its own protection. He then ran the Global Investigation and Intelligence teams, before becoming Director of BT Security’s Global Government team.
Kevin is a member of the World Economic Forum’s (WEF’s) project to tackle Cybercrime. Using his experience of both public and private sector, he advises the group on activities to further the collaborative fight against cybercrime. During his time at BT, Kevin has also developed BT’s relationship with international law enforcement agencies such as Interpol and Europol who are also working to tackle this issue.
Prior to BT, Kevin worked in law enforcement for 20 years, specialising in serious crime and intelligence.
