A small group of interdisciplinary experts will convene to consider the following questions:
- What is meant by the term 'populism', and does it adequately explain the political and social tensions so evident in the United States and Europe today?
- What are the drivers of such tensions, for example, transformative technologies or social media? What might be the consequences of such tensions in terms of governance, international relations, international trade, economic growth, and social development?
- What measures should be considered to offset the negative aspects of populism, and instead foster the positive?
This event is by invitation only.
