The Centre for Financial Crime & Security Studies is delighted to invite you to a breakfast briefing and discussion on foreign fighters and the role of financial intelligence.
Over the past 18 months, a steady stream of individuals have travelled from the UK to fight in Syria. Most have joined the self-styled Islamic State. Could financial institutions assist the security authorities to identify so-called foreign fighters by uncovering ‘telltale’ financial footprints, delivering valuable financial intelligence?
To discuss this issue, we are delighted to welcome Pete Barnes, Director Europe for Western Union's Global Investigations Unit, and DSU Andy McDonald, Head of Specialist Investigations, SO15 Counter Terrorism Command at the Metropolitan Police.
This event is open to all.
Coffee and pastries will be available from 0800.
