As the lives of those they protect are increasingly conducted in the digital domain, law enforcement agencies across the UK are entering a new age of policing. However, the digital domain presents as many challenges as it does opportunities.

This conference will explore, analyse and articulate the challenges facing the police, seeking to inform the public debate on the future of digital policing, assist the police in refining specific priorities for investment, and identify opportunities for wider collaboration.

Following the conference, RUSI will publish a short report that captures the key discussions from the event, identifies areas where academic research would add value, and makes specific policy recommendations.

The conference will explore the following themes:

  • Demands on Policing in a Digital Age
  • Policing Partners - Collaboration & Compatibility
  • Digital Investigation & Intelligence – Beyond Specialist Units
