Overview
The conference reviews UN effectiveness in addressing the challenges of peacekeeping, with the objective of identifying opportunities to adapt to changing environments, both locally and globally. An integral part of this evolution is the Action for Peacekeeping Initiative which outlines the strategy for strengthening peacekeeping, including practical improvements on to how peacekeeping mandates can be delivered more effectively. Our keynote session discusses how the UN Secretariat has directed that progress and what should be accomplished over the next two years. The role of technology in overcoming these challenges and in overcoming the increasing complexity of peacekeeping operations is also discussed.
