The Rt Hon James Arbuthnot MP

The Defence Committee was set up by the House of Commons to examine the expenditure, administration and policy of the UK Ministry of Defence. James Arbuthnot will explain what the Committee sees as its objectives and how it goes about its work, and will review the Committee's activities since the 2005 General Election.

He will seek to give an honest assessment on how effective the Committee has been in meeting its objectives, and hopes to receive candid feedback from the audience on the Committee's impact.

A sandwich lunch will be served from 1215.
