The U.S. Election: Foreign and Security Policy Challenges For the Next President

A webinar with a panel of distinguished experts on the major foreign and security policy challenges facing the next U.S. President.

The American people will vote on Tuesday 3 November 2020 in order to elect their next President, either giving Republican Donald Trump another four years or handing over the keys of the White House to Democratic challenger Joe Biden. This discussion will reflect on a range of issues that the next President will face, from rebuilding critical partnerships with allies in Europe and key institutions, including the EU and NATO, to proposals for managing the post-COVID world.  

Confirmed panellists include:

  • Ambassador Steven R. Mann, former U.S. career diplomat and recently Senior Advisor, Exxon Mobil Corporation
  • Amy Pope, Partner Schillings and former U.S. Deputy Homeland Security Advisor to President Obama
  • Mark Landler, London Bureau Chief, The New York Times

The webinar will be moderated by Sir Peter Westmacott GCMG LVO, former British Ambassador to the U.S.

This event is open to all and will take place online via Zoom.
