Senator Tariq Azim Khan will give a talk which aims to provide a useful opportunity for an in depth dialogue on the way forward in Pakistan.

RUSImotifPakistan is undergoing a significant phase of political transition in its 60 year history.  International observers and analysts are watching developments as crucial to the security of Pakistan as well as the region.
Retired General Pervez Musharraf has handed over the charge of Army Chief to General Ashfaq Kayani and was last week sworn in as a civilian Head of State. Former Prime Ministers Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif have returned from exile to Pakistan and have filed nomination papers to contest parliamentary elections scheduled for 8th January 2008. Both are reserving the option of boycotting the polls.
Senator Tariq Azim Khan, Special Envoy of the Government of Pakistan will provide an update on latest developments in Islamabad and will discuss the way forward for Pakistan.
