Missile Defence Conference 2019: Beyond Ballistic Missiles? Missile Defence in an Era of Great Power Competition

13 February 2019, 9:00 to 14 February 2019, 18:00
RUSI Whitehall
This conference will examine the degree to which the policies articulated in documents such as the upcoming U.S missile defence review and U.K modernizing defence programme will have to be informed by the emphasis on great power conflict reflected in policy statements like the U.S 2018 NSS.

The purpose of the conference will be to explore the ways in which missile defence programmes will have to adapt in an era where rogue states are not the bete noire of the international order. In particular, the conference will focus on IAMD, the impact of missile defences in an A2AD environment and the need to integrate interceptors with the disruptive technologies that are producing other forms of active and passive missile defence.
