
From October 1997 to September 1998, he was an Honorary Visiting Fellow at the Department of War Studies, KCL (from January to April 1998, he was a KCL Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Fellow as well), lecturing ‘War in History,’ ‘Military History,’ and ‘ Asia-Pacific Security 1900-2000.’ He also spent two years, as Swire Scholar, at St. Antony’s College, Oxford University.
Prof. Ishizu’s major fields of study are military history and strategic thought.

Professor Ishizu is editor-in-chief of the Journal of Strategic Studies in Japan, editorial staff of the Journal of Military History (by Japanese Commission of Military History) in Japan, and a member of the editorial advisory board of the War in History in the UK.
