Placing African voices at the forefront of the debate, we explore the reform of armies, police and governance across Africa, including disarmament and demobilisation processes throughout the continent. Africa is increasingly central to the politics of energy and minerals around the world. The role of business in Africa is another major theme of the programme, and RUSI Africa experts often provide consultancy and contract research for clients. The Africa programme also brings together researchers and policy-makers from across the spectrum, in order to stimulate discussion and action on all aspects of African security and development.The RUSI Africa programme examines a region that is fast becoming a global feature in the defence and security landscape.
