Submitting articles

Guidelines for Contributors

The Editor invites the submission of unpublished works on all topics related to international and national defence and security issues, as well as foreign affairs.

Submissions should be no longer than 1,800 words (including any footnotes/endnotes, which should be numbered consecutively, provide a full citation, and conform to an accepted footnote/endnote style).

One electronic copy of the manuscript is required, which can be sent to the Editor via email at newsbrief@rusi.org

In general, articles should aim to be opinionated, advancing a distinct and clear idea. The op-ed style is the preferred one.

Simultaneous submission to other publications must be indicated. Authors will be notified of the Editor’s decision within four weeks of submission.
