RUSI Journal, Dec 2002, Vol. 147, No. 6
By Peter Hain
It is possible to shift the bounds of the possible if we can combine the political urgency we associate with our national security with the wide range of low carbon transport fuel technologies currently being developed.
In an increasingly divided world there may be no amount of money
we can spend that will guarantee the security of our oil supplies.
We must not be prisoners of our own time. Just as we moved from horse to canal to steam to petrol, we now must move to renewables, for our health, our environment and our security too.
