The relationship between warfare and the media is at the crux of many recent discussions about the changing nature of war reporting in the twenty-first century. This article introduces the Journal's feature which explores this relationship, with articles by seasoned foreign correspondents Deborah Haynes and Peter Apps, Dr John Mackinlay's interview with film-maker Janus Metz, and Dr Peter Busch's appraisal of the centrality of objectivity in war reporting.
