South Korean Security Policy Under a New Banner

The election of Lee Myungbak has seen South Korean security policy return to a more traditional framework. Security remains the major concern of South Korea, after economic reform and social welfare, and the primary security challenge that of North Korea. President Lee's ability to meet this concern depends on how well he can clarify Korean intentions towards the North.
