Iran’s Domestic Crisis: A Chance for a Deal over Iraq?

US and Iranian officials are scheduled to meet once again in Baghdad to discuss the litany of issues dividing the two countries in their approach to Iraq. The first such round of talks took place this May, in what was deemed the most high-profile meeting between the two foes in almost three decades. Advocates of the Baker-Hamilton Report, or the Iraq Study Group, will derive satisfaction from seeing their recommendations for the US to engage Iraq’s neighbours finally being realized.
