The Met office’s weather reports and the people who deliver them provide
support to UK’s contingency planners and emergency responders.
The National Severe Weather Warning Service (NSWWS) alerts the public and civil emergency authorities of impending severe weather.
Other Met Office warning systems provide warnings of impending storm tides and atmospheric dispersion of everything from disease to chemical leaks to volcanic ash.
