Introduction: protecting the UK's Critical National Infrastructure

This special CNI edition of RUSI’s Homeland Security and Resilience Monitor has been produced to coincide with our second annual conference on protecting the Critical National Infrastructure, held on 16 and 17 April 2008. The debates surrounding the management and ownership of critical infrastructure have continued to unfold since our first conference in April 2007 and have been brought into sharp focus by events of the past year, not least the summer floods that devastated large areas of the UK.
