Eastern European includes six of the members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) and the European Union (EU). They are Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia. Since the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact, the defence industry infrastructures of the six states have undergone considerable changes. However, this article focuses on their current state and their outlook for the future.
