Assessing Assumptions: The Challenge of Through-life Support for FRES

Current assumptions underpinning the development and provision of the UK’s medium-weight armoured ground manoeuvre system need to be reassessed to reflect the complexity of the ground manoeuvre capability, that of the technologies involved and that of the fleet management capability required. The effective management of the FRES capability will come when MoD becomes confident enough to determine its own path and frames industry’s contribution to this journey.
