There has been much recent talk – from Chiefs of Staff, the media and think-tanks, not least in RUSI Defence Systems – about the critical lack of adequate funding for defence in the UK, and many question whether the taxpayer is getting the defence it needs and, if not, whether that is because of a lack of money or inefficiency in the way the budget is spent. One taxpayer inclines towards the latter view.
