Christiaan Hesse is an independent defence contractor with over 20 years’ regular and reserve military experience in the Army and the Royal Naval Reserve. He has worked in Western Europe, the Balkans and Latin America for international organizations and commercial entities. He has been employed within the DII-JC2SP procurement since 2004 and is currently part of the ream facilitating the birth of the Joint Command Integration Facility (JC2CIF) at DCMT Shrivenham. In this article he emphasises the critical importance of a sufficiently aggressive assurance regime to ensure that the UK’s end-to-end information system will function outside a trials environment, and the JC2CIF that is necessary to achieve this.
