One of the issues that has come up time and again in previous editions is the way that technology is harnessed, or not, to our acquisition system. Too often its maturity is not correctly matched to the acquisition cycle phase, leading to cost and time overruns; too often integration is not effectively handled; and too often funding for technology demonstration is not available. Add to that the difficulty in spotting 'winners' amongst the huge variety of promising research, and it is fair to say that the technology , concentrating on its link with acquisition, integration and the land environment.
