
Claude Bolton has held the post of Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics and Technology) since 2002. He is the Army Acquisition Executive, the Senior Procurement Executive and the Science Advisor to the Secretary. He is also the senior research and development official for the Department of the Army. He is responsible for appointing, managing and evaluating Program Executive Officers and Program Managers; managing the Army Acquisition Corps; and overseeing research, development, test, evaluation and acquisition programmes. He was formerly an Air Force officer, combat pilot, test pilot and acquisition professional. He talked to Bill Kincaid on 4 June 2007.
