The Infantry Section: Lifting its Capability

Alec Bain is Colonel Force Development at Headquarters Infantry in the UK MoD. He has seen operational service in Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Kosovo and Iraq. He describes the improvements to the infantry section’s capability since the Falklands campaign, but says that the increased weight and bulk must be minimised through innovative technology and procedural solutions.
