Director General of Doctrine and Training. Before that he was the Director Royal
Artillery. He is now the Director of the Centre for Defence and International
Security Studies in the UK. He is the author of the definitive book Field Artillery and Firepower. In this article, he argues that the demise of field artillery is a delusion too far.
