In July 2008, International Criminal Court (ICC) Chief Prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo announced that he would request an ICC indictment against Sudan’s President Omar al-Bashir on charges of genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes in Darfur. The case against Al-Bashir has triggered an outcry, with seemingly equal numbers supporting the decision as decrying it.
