The Battle for Iran Lies in the Arab World, Not the UN Security Council

Many will see the shifting political fortunes against President Ahmadinejad as proof that the US strategy of seeking UN Security Council resolutions against Iran, backed by a military build-up in the Gulf, aggressive raids against Iranian networks in Iraq, and US financial sanctions, is the right one. Yet, the contrary is in fact closer to the truth. The heat may be rising on Ahmadinejad, but Tehran’s fundamental strategic position has not altered.
