Open Call for RUSI Newsbrief Submissions

Guidelines for Contributors

The Editor invites the submission of unpublished works on all topics related to international and national defence and security issues, as well as foreign affairs.  

Submissions should be no longer than 1,800 words (including any footnotes/endnotes, which should be numbered consecutively, provide a full citation, and conform to an accepted footnote/endnote style). One electronic copy of the manuscript is required, which can be mailed (if saved on floppy disk) or sent to the Editor via email newsbrief@rusi.org 

In general, articles should aim to be opinionated, advancing a distinct and clear idea. The op-ed style is the preferred one. 

Simultaneous submission to other publications must be indicated. Authors will be notified of the Editor’s decision within four weeks of submission.

The deadline for the next edition of Newsbrief is 21 September 2007.

Authors alone are responsible for the contents of their respective papers. The opinions and conclusions expressed in articles written by RUSI Staff and RUSI Fellows do not necessarily represent the views of the Institute. It is the policy of the Newsbrief to give the fullest freedom to contributors and correspondents. Only by doing so can the Institute carry out the terms of its charter. The Institute reserves the right to edit contributions to the Newsbrief for space and clarity.
