Does your membership application require sponsors?

Members of the Institute enjoy a great many privileges including the opportunity to visit the institute, attend lectures, seminars and other events as well as meet other members. It is therefore very important that we ensure the interests of our members are protected.

Applicants who are NOT serving members of the UK, Commonwealth or NATO/EU Armed Forces, the UK Civil Service or Police are required to provide two sponsors. We prefer that sponsors be members of the Institute, but if this is not possible then persons of standing in the community will be acceptable.

Personal relatives are not appropriate as sponsors.

Sponsors required: my application requires sponsors and I understand I will need to enter their contact details in the online application form.

Sponsors not required: I am a serving member of British Commonwealth or NATO Armed Forces, the Civil Service or the Police and so my application does not require sponsors.
