Nuclear Analysis

This programme undertakes high-level research on global nuclear proliferation and arms control.

Current Projects

  • A Nuclear Threat Initiative-funded project on the future of non-strategic nuclear weapons in Europe and the conditions for multilateral nuclear stability at low numbers
  • A major FCO-funded project on UK/China nuclear perspectives
  • FCO-funded analysis of Chemical, Biological, and Radiological (CBR) security in India
  • UK Project on Nuclear Issues.

Previous projects

  • Initiated the Top Level Group:  a cross-party group of former UK Foreign and Defence Ministers that works to promote discussion on multilateral nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation
  • Administered the European Leaders' Network, to build a wider political consensus on addressing these issues.

Owing to their success and rapidly expanding programme of work, both initiatives are now independent of RUSI, however RUSI remains closely involved.
