About the event:

His Royal Highness Prince El Hassan bin Talal of JordanHis Royal Highness Prince El Hassan bin Talal of Jordan explored the extent to which military hardware alone can stop terrorism and the degree to which economic opportunity, institution building and energy security can promote peace in the Middle East. He assessed what role the 'Arab Spring' can play in relation to Palestine and if it is feasible to create a brand of regional 'human security', modelled not upon the requirements of the State but upon the needs of ordinary men and women.

His Royal Highness Prince El Hassan bin Talal of Jordan has been interested and involved in humanitarian and interfaith issues for many years. Building societies in which all peoples can live, work and function in freedom and with dignity has been the driving force behind his work. His Royal Highness is currently working on the construction of a Citizens' Charter and a Social Charter to embody a code of ethics and to promote societal development in West Asia and North Africa.
