The day-long event, focused on the global nature of today’s terrorism phenomenon, and looked at ways to combat it from an international perspective.

Al-Qa'ida-type terrorism threatens the world indiscriminately. This event looks at where it is most threatening, and what means exist - at a national and international level - to surmount it

The event launched our Transnational Terrorism Project – a year-long partnership programme with countries from the Middle East and Asia aimed at fostering greater international understanding and cooperation on what has become a global security threat.
