America Decides 2008
Expert Analysis of Political and Policy Issues in the US Presidential Race
On 4 November 2008 the United States will go to the polls to elect the next American president. It is an election the world is watching with rapt attention, for although this is an American election, the results will impact the world.
The number of issues the United States and her allies must confront is daunting, and the next Administration will start with a deficit in global good will, making the situation even more difficult. But while the US must provide leadership, the security concerns of the 21st century are global and they affect states around the world, including those in the Euro-Atlantic area. As such it is now that Europe should start thinking about the issues and what future policies the next US administration must pursue.
This project is dedicated to providing expert level briefings on the key foreign policy issues emerging in the US Presidential race. These briefings are non-partisan and are aimed at offering different perspectives on the most complex security challenges facing the next Administration and Washington’s global allies.
This project will also offer analysis of the political trends in the US 2008 election cycle, offering coverage of not only the presidential race, but also key Senate and House races.
