These interactive workshops will bring together experts in the relevant fields, including military personnel, government policy makers and industry professionals, to discuss the problems and prospects for each topic. It is hoped that each workshop will identify areas in which more can be done to reduce military dependence on fossil fuels and its impact on the environment.

The project will culminate with the RUSI Alternative Energy and Sustainability Conference 2010, 'The International Military Effort on Climate Change'.

A publication comprising the findings of the workshops and conference materials alongside additional research by RUSI will be available after the 2010 conference.
