Saqeb Mueen

Position: Director, New Media/Editor-in-chief, RUSI.org

Saqeb Mueen is responsible for RUSI.org's editorial direction and analysis. He is also a Research Analyst and is currently focusing on Radicalisation in Europe and the Muslim world.

Prior to assuming his current role, Saqeb Mueen was Deputy Editor of the RUSI Journal and was responsible for its authoritative Reviews section. Saqeb remains an Associate Editor of the Journal and also sits on RUSI's Editorial Board.

He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the School of Slavonic and East European Studies, University of London, and a Master of Arts degree in War Studies at King's College, London. His dissertation examined Huntington's thesis of 'Clash of Civilizations' in Europe towards its Muslim population. His other interests include South Asian and Middle Eastern politics. He has written on these subjects in the RUSI Journal and the RUSI Newsbrief and commented in the press and media including the BBC and Voice of America.

He completed a number of internships before joining the Institute, which included working for a Member of Parliament and an NGO devoted to conflict resolution strategies.
