Andrew Somerville
Andrew Somerville was a Research Fellow specialising in nuclear issues at RUSI. His research interests include nuclear strategy, deterrence, arms control, non-proliferation, and terrorism involving CBRN and other novel technologies. He is currently leading RUSI projects on these issues in India and China, as well as co-ordinating the UK Project On Nuclear Issues (UK PONI).
Andrew served at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL) in the UK Ministry of Defence from 2005 to 2008.
He has also provided research and analysis at the International Centre for Security Analysis and the Centre for Science and Security Studies, based in the Department of War Studies, King's College London.
Andrew holds an MA in Science & Security from the Department of War Studies at King's College London, and a BSc in Physics from Imperial College London. He is an associate of the Royal College of Science.
