Grants

In addition to the generous support Members of the Institute have shown, the RUSI Library has been fortunate to receive grants from the Heritage Lottery Fund, the Pilgrim Trust and the British Library (through its scheme of Grants for Cataloguing and Preservation).

The entire Library stock of some 16,000 volumes has been catalogued and computerized. Damaged books in the Library's core collecting areas have received the necessary preservation treatment. In addition, approximately 900 volumes from the Library's core historical collection have been restored, including the Institute's own RUSI Journal (founded in 1857) and Colborn's United Service Magazine (1827-1923).

This has been an outstanding start to repairing our entire collection, and we shall be seeking further funding to carry on the good work already completed.
